Strategies to Combat Piracy

1. Pirates struggle with the same discoverability issue authors do, so include the following text in your author website footer. This loads your site with the keywords those wanting to pirate books often use in their searches. Doing this helps your site appear in the results and pushes pirate site search results down.
   
   Download all your favorite [Author Name] books in ePub, mobi or PDF form from your favorite retailer. Or read [Author Name] for free at your local library.
   
   
2. Set Google alerts for your author name and titles to catch pirated links as soon as they go up.
3. Check the box to apply Digital Rights Management (DRM) to titles when uploading them to retailers.
